  1. Eat more fruit. Fruit is not only in season this time of year, but it contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are beneficial to your overall health.
  2. Try iced green tea instead of soda or sweet tea. It’s packed with antioxidants and can reduce your risk of health complications such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
  3. Make a salad with leafy greens such as spinach, lettuce, arugula and more. They are all in season during the spring and summer.
  4. Have a helping of beans. Beans and legumes like black beans, black-eyed peas, kidney beans, lentils and soybeans are good sources of antioxidants, B vitamins, calcium, iron, potassium and protein.
  5. Add fruits and vegetables to your water to give it a flavor boost and increase your mineral intake at the same time.
